    Cam recommendations for 317 heads

    hey guys, I am starting to research my cams. I need a few recs on what type of cams I should consider for a stock bottom LS1, with Lq9 317 heads, with a future (but not internment) supercharger upgrade. That will keep me at a decent power level, while I upgrade to FI?

    ohh yeah the 317's will go on the car at the same time as the cam.

    Why the 317's are you wanting less compression? I have a set of l92's with 2 to4b turbos with a 236/242 595/600 112 lsa Im making 850 rwhp in my 00 ss camaro

    well. I got them for FI, because they flow very well and they were 100 bucks with 10,000 miles on them. will it be bad if I run a Low CR while being NA?

    NA higher the compression the more torque you will have, but for forced induction lower compression the more you can boost it.

    I think the lower the CR the more boost you can run.

    Realizing it will be NA temporarily, you probably want to look at a split cam with low overlap. A true boost-oriented grind will be the best cam in the long run but run less than great without boost. A custom grind cam may suit you best. Good luck on the build!

    Im in the same boat as you. i just picked up some 317s as I am doing a heads/cam swap this winter. Check out exoticperformanceplus forced induction cam. I talked to them and even being na it made a good amount of power. I believe it made 50+ hp. Im getting my 317s ported and next year Im putting a D1sc on it.
