    Question Cam Question

Will a 222 563 114LSA cam give my engine that "choppy" idle? I'm looking for a cam that's good for the street, but I want MORE power. I still want a good midrange. What do you guys think? Thanks.

    go with a comp cams 224/224 581/581 112 lsa.
you will have great midrange with above and good lope.
i use the same cam as above only with a 114 lsa which lopes less.

Thanks! What are the benefits of titanium retainers also? Should I or not?

i have the 224/224 .581/.581 112lsa cam that NHRA is talking about. It's a good size cam for a DD. Here is a link to my car revving and some idle:

as for titanium retainers they are stronger, lighter and able to handle the upgraded cam (i also did spring bases, pushrods, Ls6 oil pump, Ls2 timing chain, dual springs). do all of the recommended valvetrain upgrades when you do the cam install and tune. I have my idle set between 800-850 rpm and it sounds great at idle with lope (my LT's/ORY really has brought out the cam at idle). nothing to crazy, but people will be able to notice it's not stock. check out my sig for my results. i would also suggest an Ls6 intake (mine is on my floor) by up grading your induction, it will help the cam breathe a lot better.
