cam help??
I have a 2001 Z28 bone stock...so far...I have a dynatech supemaxx header system going on and GMMG exhaust, and air lid...when I put those on I'm also going to add a cam, but I don't know which one yet, and going to get either my heads ported and finished or a new set... I'm wondering what recommendations anyone has for a cam and if it is worth getting my heads finished or getting a new set and which set??? The car is not a DD...and I'm not looking to put on nitrous, turbo, or supercharge it right now and probably won't at all or at least for awhile until I do other mods...the converter is probably next...any ideas????

black- 2000 nhra edition formula
a cam in the low 230s range will be good for a fair weather car.
youll need a 3500 rpm or bigger stall to match up to it.
as for heads, you can get some new ones for rather cheap out there.
since youre also from chicago, check out ls1speed.com
with a 3000 rpm stall and 224/224 cam im running real low 12s.
with a biiger cam, stall and heads, if you can hook, bank on 11.60s2000 nhra edition formula
a few bolt ons, 379 rwhp

try to get most of your bolt on first, including a 12 bolt. to much power for that car without support mods will break something.

thats a good cam! I used to have one on a 114. great powerband. Patriot has actually made a come back. They've proven that their heads arent junk, but are very competative! You dont need a new TB, but porting and polishing is advised. As for the injectors, Id recommend you go with a minimun of 30#, but 42# leave a lot of room for future mods the bore on the ls1's is 3.898 and a 3.622 stroke.
