2000 black T/A Vert- Red 99 C5 Coupe sold
Which cam for a daily driver 6.0 liter?
I am building a 6 liter for my 00 Trans Am. It is an auto with 3.23 gears, a stall will come later. I will probably use Patriot LS6 heads. Which cam will give good power and still be daily drivable?
Thanks,
Shawn

Custom cam 519/519: lift ~ 114 lobes ~ dyno tune ~ pay the extra money & get the best ( AFR 205's ) ~ 2500 stall ~Hedman step street headers ~ stay with 16" wheels & tires ~ same gear ~ iridium plugs ~ MSD coil pacs ~ FAST intake & throttle body ~ now you will need a cage !

pretty much anything up to a .600 lift and op to a 230ish duration on a 114 would be a pretty good daily driver. Only thing you have to decide on is your stall speed and base your actual spec off of that alone. If you get a 3000 stall you want a cam that will keep that stall speed in your power band.

the XXX or 056 will be a good choice. you'll need a stall before doing this, or it'll drive crappy.Cold Air Intake, Muffler Delete, Vinci High Performance Dual Valve Springs, Hardened Pushrods, Yella Terra 1.85 Rockers, Some Hydropdipped Stuff, Strut Tower Brace, Some SS Badges, boost/vacuum gauge, fuel pressure gauge, some checkered stripes, drilled/slotted rotors, ZL1addons Stealth wickerbill, Ruxifey LED side markers

what stall speed would you reccommend he goes with if he gets that cam so that he has an Idea of what he it getting. With a 222 cam then it should be fine with a 3000 right?

it doesnt stop there, with a cam you have shifted your power band from stock. Now if you have ever had your car dynoed then you can see where your power band really starts to kick in and you would want your stall speed to be right where that power band is so that you eliminate dead spots and with a large cam it wont feel like waiting for your ricer vtec to kick in. You will always be in your power band and your car will love you for it
