And stick to the single roller chain cause, you will have clearance issues with the timing cover when using a double roller. I'm using the Comp Cams LS2 adjustable timing set.

Yeah, stick with site sponsors if you can. Plus that's pretty cheap for the lifters.

Get the whole timing set though, not just the chain. If your car has that many miles on it, just go ahead and replace the whole set for better reliability and longevity.

That cam will be very driveable. Also as for the Ls2 chain/gears, the chain's stretch is what limit's it's life. All of the timing gears I have seen have looked fine, so just the chain is all you really need. Not a huge savings, but some.

If your going to be running a stall, I'd suggest you invest in a transmission cooler. They're only $65 dollars and will reduce the transmission temps. When you run a higher stall torque converter, the transmission WILL run hotter and can eventually burn out the tranny. It's a small price to pay to prevent an expensive rebuild.

And if your asking about PTV (Piston to Valve Clearance) you should be fine with the stock heads. Only time you need to really check with an over the shelf cam is when using modified heads or durations of 240+.

That should be a good DD cam.

just an update...only been able to work on it 2-3 nights

We have done the 3.73 gears, old trans out and new ready to put in when stall gets here monday! and trans cooler then too. Also we have done the rear main seal and all the parts are here but lifters, thermo and i still got to order sfc and do an alignment.

then call frost for shift/gear tune until rest is done and can do full tune!

The guy who is working on it thinks the noise might be a main bearing bc it quites/slows when engine has a load on it.

got pict...ill try and load them tonight computer at home is f***ing up
