So lets say you got the time money and energy. Take an LSX block, build it up, how would you do it?

I'd build a low compression forged 454 out of it and put some twin turbos on it. That's my future plan actually.

Low compression motor, full solid roller setup, dry sump, 454, sheet metal intake, some six bolt heads so it can take plenty of boost, and twin turbo the hell out of it.

Im just curious but how the hell do you get 454 ci out of an ls1? im curious becuase im sleeving mine with a 4" crank to get 427! and way all of this horsepower takes more work to the trans and diff does it not? correct me if im wrong but isnt the c5 drive train good to about 600rwhp if your talking a well built 454 with only 8 psi boost your near 800 ponies and a whole wad of cash getting the rest of the car to take it all. im just really curious on the whole process becuase im heading down that road i too want to know that there are only a handful of heavily modded cars or rockets that can compair. ha and while were dreaming when do you take the plunge and invest in a roll cage?

hey hot black, thanks for the link.
don't worry the engine wont be the only thing getting a complete overhaul. The trans drive shaft and rear end will all be custom too. Yes the car will have a roll cage, probably wheelie bars too. I will want to take it to the track and just kick the crap out of almost anything there.... I say almost anything because John Force does bring his jet powered semi's to Norwalk Raceway park. :-) I'd love to up against that thing one day..... but i couldn't image having a fucking jet behind my ass
