INSTANT torque and will easily make 550hp with a conservative tune. Since I blew the stock motor in my car, I'm gonna go with the 383 since I already have it and its top quality shit. Right now its just gonna be NA, but when I sell the STS kit and get everything like I want it, I'm just gonna change the cam and throw a Magnacharger on the 383 since the 383 was built for 20psi and well over 1000hp. Luckily the compression is right at 10.7:1 which should still make good power NA, but be perfect for the supercharger.
rethink your setup buddy. there isnt one magnacharger out there making anywhere near the power of a large turbo setup. magnachargers are Heat pumps and create high IATs. also your compression isnt ideal for boost and big numbers.

no motor is built to a certain amount of boost. PSI is a measurement of restriction. stock motors have seen 20psi whats that tell you?

Lower power numbers for boost (which is normal on the stock bottom end)....great trap speed.
Gotta love having a light ass Corvette to work with.

Another local w/ a c5 z06 is running a vortech supercharger and making 700whp on a stock bottom end. I know it's nothing permanent but definatley no problem on forged internals.
And it's kind of nice to have a vette to.

I don't see what your getting at. I don't care for 1000hp, all I was saying is the motor I have was built with a 1000hp turbo setup in mind. The compression is because of the heads he bought. He spent all the money he had on the shortblock, so he bought a relatively cheap set of Patriots to run lower boost on until be could go with some Trick flows and lower the compression and bump up the boost. I don't need to rethink my setup at all. I know what I have, and I know what I want. Since my car is gonna be a DD, I don't want 1000hp. 600-650 with almost instant torque is more than enough for me, and the compression IS ideal for what I want. Which will be probably somewhere around 7-10psi and nice cool IATs. I guess I can see where my post was misleading, but I don't expect to get 1000hp with a MP112 Magnacharger kit. I just want around 600, maybe 650.

Oh, and the part about no motor being built to a certain amount of boost is somewhat true, but also BS at the same time. Yes, stock motors have seen 20PSI, but really, how long do they hold up? All I was getting at was the the 383 I have was built with 20+psi of boost in mind and 1000hp and still hold together since it was gonna be a track only car and get the living shit run outa it.

the rod and crank combo essentially
the piston's compression height push the wristpin too far into the ring package, which reduces piston stability at higher engine speeds.
