I have a 228/230 with a lsa of 114. With LT's and CNC ported LS6 heads I got 431 rwhp on a 93 degree day. The drivability is great, no issues at all. If you can't run LT's it would be less but still good numbers

you have to have something else you wont see 431 off that cam and some #243s tell the whole story you may see 405 on a decent tune, 425 on a great tune.

Hey guys, I have been wanting to throw a cam in my car as well, i got the usual bolt ons, intake and full 3" exhaust all the way back with an open dump after the ory. I had her dyno tuned at 373 rwp, 371 rwtq.

Could I maybe see 400 with a 228 cam then? If so that would be great, as i plan on procharghing it in the future, but not for a while, so 400 for now would be awesome!

yea with a tune you would see more even you should go bigger for the amount of time you are putting in to it.

you would see 400rwhp with just a 224 like mine easily. A 228/228 cam would put you well above that with supporting upgrades and a good tune

I am running the G5X2 in my m6 with 4.33 gears and still get 25mpg on the highway. In town I get around 15mph unless I do alot of idling then it drops to 12-13mpg.

I noticed that you do not have headers yet on your car. You really should get a set of long tube headers BEFORE you put a cam in. Also I have the f13 cam(230/232) on my car and have no problems daily driving it. I also have 3:73 gears though. I think alot of the driveability is in the tune. Many of my friends daily drive cars with the same cam as I have or bigger. One of my friends daily drives his SS with a 233/239 cam and has stock gears. Ive driven his car and its actaully not too bad to drive. So id think you would be fine with a f13 cam, as long as you have a good tuner near you.

Dude headers are something you can do anytime I run stock headers on a stroker as a sleeper, get the cam as it is whats going to add most of the power you can do headers whenever you want

Good quote. Love the sound of a car camming and it turns heads and strikes fear in the eyes of rice burners.

go to thunderracing.com, this would probably be the cam i would get,
99-TR230/224-111 Thunder Racing Custom "Reverse Split" Camshaft - 230/224 .575/.563 111 LSA 2200-6800 RPM Power Band. Excellent mid-range & high RPM power. Automatic cars require computer tuning and it is recommend for optimum results on manual transmission cars . Due to the fast ramp rate of this camshaft, the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended

looking at cams myself and have been eyeballing the thunder racing 230/236 or 236/230. It will be going on my 02 camaro ss which is just a weekend cruiser, and Ill be doing Lt's and probably gears at the same time, this is gonna be my winter project. My question is... for a stock ls1, what split does a person want to go with, more duration on the intake or the exhaust and what is the advantage of a higher duration on either side??

I got an MS4 and it is great so far it added 40rwhp on stock manifolds. I know this is not the best set up but It is far easier to change the exhaust than to swap a cam and I know I had to do it twice (long story). So I'm going to put some long tubes, and injectors over the winter and see my numbers climb.
