Do a search on "best oil"
There will be enough reading material in that search to last you weeks. It has been discussed very in depth many many times here.

I ordered a sample kit from Blackstone Labs so I will be sending off my Royal Purple to see how it's holding up before I change it this summer. http://www.blackstone-labs.com/free_test_kit.html
Sending in an oil analysis is the only way to really know what the hell is going on in your crank case. Everything else is marketing gimicks. Check out Blackstone's site: http://www.blackstone-labs.com/ for more information.
A non-LSX site worth looking at in terms of oil: http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/ A member named "Patman" is very knowledgeable on the subject of oil and LSX.
I've heard great things about German Castrol, Penzoil Platinum, Amsoil, Royal Purple, and Mobil 1 Extended Performance. To drop another turd in the punchbowl, let's not forget about quality oil filters!
-Had to do it, Sarge.

Penzoil Platinum... for cost vs performance as well as Shell Rotella. I can buy a 5 gallon pale of it for $35 and it's a grade 4 synthetic!
Mobile 1 grade 3 synthetic and overpriced for it.
