Cam was bought by the previous owner, only mod they did. I have another creation on the way. Completely custom to matched my setup and driving desires, I should be at 450 after this no problem. But I'm not concerned with the Peak HP... I'm looking at the power under the curve I'll be using

    Question Dilemma

I have a set of ’98 LS1 heads that have been on the shelf in the garage for about 3 years now. They have some intake runner work, some bowl work, and have been completely gone through with a valve job, new guides, and new performance springs. I recently purchased another Camaros SS. Will these work on a stock ’02 LS1 or are they too big?

    Valves: Intake 2.125, Exhaust 1.60
Port Volume: Intake 225, Exhaust 150

    Corrected Intake flow: .200 – 136.54, .300 – 200.58, .400 – 250.39, .500 – 278.41, .600 – 263.74
    Potential Intake flow: .200 – 165.81, .300 – 224.93, .400 – 265.88, .500 – 289.77, .600 – 299.75

97 and 98 heads will only work on that year engine, something with the bolts changed and they wont fit on 99+

What is the down side? Will they fit in the stock bore? What cam could I use if they will fit?

you're right, but would require a bigger bore, not just ci from a stroker

There's a term for it, but its where the valve gets masked off by a smaller bore, still works sometimes but not the best solution to building a good setup

Just like madseason said...you cant just pull bigger cubes and expect them to fit cuz unfortunatly they wont... You will need to give em a bigger bore and i would say the biggest cam you could run would be around the 230-240 (240 probably wont clear) range but someone check me on that...

Head Bolts are the same! Valve cover Bolts are on the perimeter on the 98 heads, and in the center on the later year models.
