i think he should get the patriot ls6 (243's) or the ls6 style heads as they are more his niche. they are however far from the best head.

for the record patriot doesnt have a 205cc runner on the markert yet. there predator casting is comming down the pipe line thought. there stgII heads are around 232cc intake and 85cc exhaust.

and for anyone who thinks peak flow is everything...

I was told the intake runners on the Patriots were 227 cc's.

Well first off i DONT have a small cam... as i posted before my cam is big... 232/237 .595/.605 112LSA so i need to make sure the heads will make the power to work with the cam... I just dont want heads that are big but will give me minimal gains... Even though i will have the heads port match and milled i still want the best and if what everyone says here is true.... $1200 more for the AFRs for 10HP is DEFINATLY not worth it....

I see everyone is favorible towards the Pat stg 2.... With my upgraded vavletrain (which is dual tit valve springs, hardened pushrods and dual tit retainers) would these heads work and flow well with my cam and everying else??? HP est??

Also what would be the difference between:

    Patriot LS6 5.7 - STAGE 3 (2.08/1.60/68cc)

    and

    Patriot Predator 245 (2.08/1.60/59cc-72cc) 4.125 bore

And which one do you think will be better for my WS6??? Produce the best HP??

    your missing the whole point...

at any rate, the only difference between the stgII and stageIII heads are the valve sizing. the difference between the ls6 and ls6 style heads and the predator, is the predator is a completely new aftermarket casting. its not limited to the OEM casting short comings.

the stgIII and predator 245 casting are setup for larger then stock bores, 4.125 on the predator as you posted.

as i said earlier, go with the PP stgII's as there more your niche. if you go with the ls6 style heads you dont need to mill them as they weld up the chamber to your desired volume so no material is removed from the deck.

Hmmmm, I was told by Patriot. Why have you measured the Patriot stage II LS6 style heads personally? The PRC's are supposedly 235 cc's.

    yes i have. the prc 2.5 5.3's i measured were 231cc and 85cc.

if you really get into heads you'll find alot of discrepencies between whats advertised and whats actually measured or flowed beyond the inherent tool and bench variation.

I believe it. I'm not talking about the PRC's. Did you measure the new Patriot LS6 style heads at 235 cc's?

what part of yes i have do you not understand. and i stated they were 232cc not 235cc.

    so we get things straight:

PP stgII ls6 style heads: 232cc/85cc
    PRC 2.5 5.3's: 231/85cc
    AFR225: 228cc/83cc
    FFHP 5.7's: 223.5cc/83.5

    - NeeD4SpeeD, the PP's arent the greatest head but they will suit your need since afr's or etp's arent in the budget

Cocky guy huh? Maybe if you didn't mention that you had measured the Patriots, and then gone on to quote the specs for the 5.3l heads it would have been more clear!

Yeah I know who he is. I've seen thousands of his posts on ls1tech. He's usually not such a tough guy over there though.

Those heads would seem more usefull where a Much higher compression ratio and race gas would be required
