Cyclone Grey Metallic- 2005 GTO
It's a really open ended question. There are guys pushing 900hp out of an LS1, but it aint exactly stock. I'm a bit confused...
what exactly do you want from the car? Full out drag car? Auto x? All around? A bit more info would be helpful.

Yeah, you definitely need to give us more info before we can recommend anything.

Pewter- 1999 Camaro SS-M6 #1775
Well if your doing off-road racing with it then you might want something reliable and something with lots of torque.
what kind of off-road racing are you talking about?1999 Camaro SS/ Pewter/ #1775 - LS1 6-speed - Predator 3 Custom Tune - Pro 5.0 - LS7 Clutch - 3.90's - Koni's - Strano Springs and Sway Bars - SFC's - Full UMI Chassis and Suspension - LS6 Intake PnP TB - ARH LT's and Kitty Ran Away - Magnaflow.

red- off road racer
thanks guys, the racing i am doing is a cross between ralling and corr racing it takes place through forrests and fields, lots of torque is a big addvantage and quick accelaration is most important i dont mind if its not staock but i would like the engine to be reliable and not need constant rebuilding, i am running a 4L80 auto box with shifter kit, the regular race lap/stage is between 8 and 12 miles.
if you need more info let me know
thanks for your intrest

Ah, and LS1 would be fine then. Even a stock bottom end with an aggressive heads/cam would put you in the 500 hp/tq at the flywheel range.

He would benefit from a 408 if he wants lots of torque.

how much money are you looking to spend? i would not go witht the ls7 by the way if you have 10k a stroked ls2 will get you good power with a nice heads cam intake setup. But built ls1 with a roots supercharger would give you awesome torque also.
1998 Firebird Formula WS6... few things done.

I wouldn't look at the LS7 unless you just want bragging rights. You can build that much hp for about half what an LS7 crate costs. Look into the strokers as suggested.
