what are you current mods? other things need to be upgraded when doing a cam swap...

any cam can really be 'streetable'. do you want a peak HP cam or an 'under the curve' cam...

your info is too vague. i mean a 224 supporting mods and a good tune would get you low 12's high, 11's at the track, or you could go bigger to a Torquer v2 (232 size cam), to a T-Rex (242+)...

    vote for 224/224 112 lsa M6 114 lsa A4
full bolt ons + susp/tires good tune 11's easily

also nastiest cam depends on person

TR 224 w. tru duals h-pipe bullet mufflers w. turn downs sounded INSANE yet still a "small" cam (more average then small IMO)

for a true daily driver, not much more than a V2 cam.

get rid of the flowmaster.. they flow worth shit on our cars

pick up a set of LT's & ORY or y with high flow cats
magnaflow exhaust would be a good option too

look in my first post (post #2), those will be along the lines of the numbers you would see with a Comp 224/224 .581/.581 @112lsa and supporting mods and upgrades...

TR224 cam only dyno 380/365 all day

id look for 395/380 w. a good tune

keep in mind you need to get a base line to really be able to see the gains

ah, the MS4. that's a peak HP cam. definately would need a tune. it's a tall cam for a DD and would possibly need a stall (for an A4) and rear gears...

it's a big cam but with a good tune and supporting mods it can be done...

that's right around were i was sitting before the heads went on (376/366). only different between the TR224 and a Comp224 is the lift. TR=around .560ish, Comp=around .581ish...

i did not say that 224 cams are bad cams. they make good power, but not peak power. 224 cams are very solid performers. i know i currently have one in with a TSP 231/237 waiting to be swapped in its place...

    heres my ideas....

lts, x pipe, bullet mufflers and dumped.
    hand ported stock heads
i want alot of TQ, good midrange, and whatever will yield the absolute fastest trap speeds respectively. (and with supporting mods)
i think i could tolerate a pretty rowdy cam but my car is driven on the street and taken to the track on weekends. i dont want a trailer queen or something i cant use. im 19, i dont have the desire to keep the miles off of it.
any suggestions on a what i should have to achieve what i want, speaking in terms of a CAM. also would love to run 10:90s when its all said and done. please help me... 6 speed BTW

MS4 noooooo buenoooo flycut them bitches

clearance's are not with in generally accepted ammounts .100 .080

    ms4 clears by like .03x .02x

    same goes for MS3

ALWAYS clay... reguardless of how small or big the cam is... always good for peace of mind IMO

those cams dont clear with stock heads w. stock valves as advertised
they claim they do but they really dont... not with in generally accepted clearance ammounts of .100 & .080

with the variations in building these motors from GM theres too much variation to gaurantee clearance since its soooo close

esp when the motor heats up and everything expands...

plenty of guys have ended up with grenaded motors from the cams (with stock heads)

even ported and clearanced? how much are they supposed to clear by cuz i dont want it to be really close either?! fuck that. anything can happen, i dont want to have to rebuild a 58000 mile ls1 at the moment....
