anyone have the 1:8.5 roller rockers?......

.........and if you do, did you notice a difference? i know it's the easy way out of doing a cam. I plan on doing a cam in the future but for now, i just want some quick HP. I hear they are definately worth it. anyone else wanna chime in?

i had them. dollar to dollar compared to making h.p they are a waste.
best bet is to save up for a cam swap.
i learned that the hard way

You need to watch out also with the 1.8 rockers as you will depending on the cam you get later might cause the valves to hit the pistons and / or the valve covers. There are some valve cover spacers available. I went back to 1.7 and a more aggressive cam and got rid of the 1.8 rockers. IMO they are not worth it.

They were one of the 1st mods I did. They did bring up the Tq & Hp a fair amount. But when I installed them I also swaped out my clutch & Fw and balancer all at the same time so I am not sure where I picked it all up, power and torque.

When I replaced the arms I also installed new springs, retainers and locks, and push rods. I am still running them to this day, but with a blower to boot. So they are working great for me with my power and torque are nice and close.

Back when they were installed never planed on F/I or realy getting into the motor with the mods. But for what they cost with the springs, retainers and locks. Iwould now go with a cam of your choice and upgraded springs, lock, retainers and pushrods and you be set. As it is I plan on a cam swap so I will have to go back to the stock 1.7,s to keep things in check.

I just added 1.8 crane rockers Friday and I love them. You definitely feel the power, also it quieted down most of my valvetrain noise
