Aluminum heads
Thinking about going with alluminum heads but want some opinions...
Patriot Performance has suggested the following
Patriot alluminum heads
CNC Ported, hand blended, 5 degree angle,
2.00" 1.55", & new OEM valves
Will I notice anything with 2.00" 1.55" over what came stock? Or, should
I consider going a little more radical?
what are those measurements on the stock heads?
thanks.

just having heads on an otherwise stock short block wont benefit you that much. adding a cam into the equation and matching it with head flow will make serious power. heads and cams is a combo that should be combined according to flow of the heads and duration of the cam lift.

I had a comp cam with the following specs put in last year.
.566 lift 222/224 duration 112 lsa
and a Yank TT3000 torque converter.
so with that cam what should I go with as far as heads go? Are the ones that Patriot suggest okay?

CNC Ported
Hand Blended

and new OEM valves
thanks for your help.

if you have a 5.3L motor, the stock valves are 1.89/1.55 with 61cc chamber
if you have a 6.0L motor, the stock valves are 2.00/1.55 with 70cc chambers
it's not just the valve size, it's the porting and chamber size that makes the most difference.Cold Air Intake, Muffler Delete, Vinci High Performance Dual Valve Springs, Hardened Pushrods, Yella Terra 1.85 Rockers, Some Hydropdipped Stuff, Strut Tower Brace, Some SS Badges, boost/vacuum gauge, fuel pressure gauge, some checkered stripes, drilled/slotted rotors, ZL1addons Stealth wickerbill, Ruxifey LED side markers

thanks
I have the 5.3L 1.89/1.55
and the heads I've chosen are 2.00/1.55
Will I get the 30-40 hp (or perhaps even more) as I've been told? Also, will I notice any quicker acceleration especially on takeoff?
Stock it came with 3.73 gears and everyone tells me those are fine... but I keep thinking that bigger gears, even if only slightly bigger, might be what I want?

with tuning, you can get the 30-40 rwhp. i did a head only swap on the wife's car. after tuning 37 rwhp. on stock tune, 17 rwhp. this was on stock cam.
honestly, do not change gears. changing them will help with initial acceleration, but cut you off on the top end of a 1/4 mile run.
