    AFR 205's for a 408?

Are the valves on the AFR 205's too small for a 408?

    Is it a weak combination?

No and no, but it also depends on what you are looking to do...

Not to sure if they are weak but it all depends on the parts in the motor & what you are trying to do with the car. The place I go to Virginia Speed built a 408 Stroker motor out of a 6.0L truck block going in a 02 Camaro 35th.I talked the them they used Trick Flow 235's on it. I watched it be dynoed and it made a crap ton of power.
From what I have heard though AFR's are nice as far as casting goes but junk when it came to the internals meaning springs and such.

I like to see 205's on smaller cubed engines. I'd suggest nothing under 225cc's.

have made 540 on a 402 with these with monster mid range tq.

It is a common misperception... not saying that the 225s won't work, but you can't really tell him what head to run until he gives the whole picture,

well there is no picture I'm just curious there is a slight chance I might want to go to a Aluminum LS2 408 stroker in the future and I was wondering if along with the whole rotating assembly and a new cam I could be done and change over everything I have from my present build and still get full power out of it.

    Current

    346 stock rotating assembly
    228/230 cam
    Ported FAST92
    AFR 205's 62cc
    full valvetrain upgrades
full bolts on with exhaust cutout

I chose those specs primarily for a strong weekend warrior LS1 my chances of building up a 408 are ALOT better if I don't have to get different heads along with a cam when doing it...

that thing would be a stump puller with those H/C!

You could put a little coin into having them ported if you can spare it. I'd sell that cam on the forum and go with something slightly different if feasible...

well I was definately going to get a better cam as I imagine there would be one better suited for a 408 my main concern is whether or not my heads would be miss-matched since I just dumped TONNES of coin for them... I'm thinking maybe porting them but is there just way better heads out there?
