    Cam Tech Needed 8 4 Cam Swap?

    Has anyone everheard of and 8 4 cam swap. I was told today by a friend he read something in hot rod about it. something about changing the firing order on the #8 and #4 cylinders. Any one?

    I've heard it done, but I thought it was only done on the older small blocks......could be wrong though.
    its supposed to give more torque and run smoother

    I do know of the small block 4 7 swap so I am subscribed

    EDIT: after some quick research I couldnt find JACK about it.. nothing. so im thinking he meant the gen I 4 7 swap.

    eh I wrote a thingy about it back in auto school. It was on HP tv a long damn time ago so I did some research online..

    The 4 7 swap isnt possible in a gen III engine so... yeah. The firing order is different as well.

    Worked 11 hours.. and now this

    I average 14 hour days and am stuck in the truck using my phone most of the time

    I wish I could be stuck in a truck.. but building explosives will work.

    At the machine shop I worked at part time we did an experiment on a roundy round motor with the 4-7 swap. A little 406. Didn't find anything on the dyno at all except that it seemed to switch the exhaust temps around on 2 cylinders from what they usually are.
