    799 heads

Just a quick question... I know the 799 heads are the same as the 243's but what I was wondering, do the 799's have sodium filled valves as well?

    Thanks,
    Jeremy

    Here are the differences:
243 heads came with 2.00 hollow stem intake valves (lighter) and 799 heads came with regular solid 2.00 intake valves. 243 came with sodiom filled stem 1.55 exhaust valves (lighter and more heat dissepation) and 799 came with regular solid stem 1.55. I am not totally sure of this but I believe 01-04 243 heads came with the blue LS6 springs (more lift capable) but 2001 243 heads and 2005 and later 799 heads came with yellow LS6 valve springs (less than the blue lift capability).

Sorry man none of that correct. MOST 243's and 799's are the EXACT same. Only 02-04 243 heads that came off of an ls6 z06 or cts-v have the lightweight valves. 01 243's and any other 243's that came off an ls2 or other engine have regular valves so they are the exact same as 799's. Also 2001 243 z06 heads have blue springs which had less lift capability, .525 instead of.570 the yellow springs came out in 02 because the ls6 was upgraded in that year the yellow springs were were used from there on up on the 243 and 799 heads however I have seen some heads that just have regular springs with no color on them and 'supposed to be the same but no one has confirmed it.
