6.0 Iron block, Rotating Assembly
hey guys I came into conclusions on what I want to do. and after being raped my uncle sam, I feel that by this year I got to "invest" in the "company" car LOL
any way
im looking at a 402 Iron Block, How much HP will that hold? I am going the FI route.
And the rotating Assembly I would like some dished pistons and prefereably everything forged. Are the Eagle Cranks any good?
I am looking at some AFR heads I am leaning towardss the 225's
The Cam, I am completely lost on this one, whats a good cam for Turbo applications?
An APS TT kit... and other non engine related mods.
Will any of you guys throw in your .02 in this? my main goals is to have a relaible weekend driver/dragger aswell. My HP outlook is somewhere in the 500-700rwhp range. I know theres a few guys that went with 402 and FI and are getting 7xxish WHP. I cant wait....

TTi (Turbo Technologies Inc.) has a GREAT single kit. Doesn't fit as well as the APS kit, but allows for larger turbo(s).
I believe it is more money actually.
If I ever get to the point I want forced induction....it would be hard for me NOT to go with the TTi kit.
APS would be second to last on my list....right after STS. I would go ProCharger F1A over the APS (for my build).

whats the best crank? I've also heard the same about the eagles, but more good than bad. and whats wrong with APS kit, its gotta be at least better than an STS. Ill check out that TTI info you gave. If I can get better performance out of that. I rather go single.

The "Best" crank, some people like to debate. I think that lunati makes a great product, but they are expensive. i just ordered my TSP 408 and i went with the callies crank and rods. a little extra money, but i have heard much better thing about callies than i have about eagle.

If I was going to push my set-up with a turbo....it would get a Lunati crank.

the eagle products for the LS world is alot better then it is for other motors
now honestly do you have an idea on what your getting into? not being an ass but speaking from someone who has been down several paths.
what power level do you want?
in FI heads arent as important as you think
a 408 with stock heads and good cam is capable of over 1k hp with right turbo/s
X block is only needed if your looking for fastest car alive. seriously unless you want around 1100 rwhp no need
if you only want 6-700 hp stock cubes work better and better for wallet.

Agreed, Im doing research before jumping on to conclusions. I wont spend the money for an LSX block, but I will get a steel 402 block, which run about 500-700 dollars (block only) 408 is too big. I know I can easily get my goal numbers with a good NA build, but turbo is my guilty pleasure.

My build will be a 408 with an F1A. Im building the motor first( but ready for boost) and then putting the procharger kit on later cus i know i wont have money to do it all at once and i wanna do it right.
If i were you, id go with 402 or 408, really doesnt matter, its your choice. And then i would go single turbo for sure(if your set on going turbo.) There is less piping and you can make just as much power as twins if you size it right.
