6.0 build help????!!!!
Hey guys i am brainstorming now on a build for a 6.0 engine i have. I am new to the LS world. I am use to dealing with the older muscle motors but i have become impressed with the performance i have seen from LS engines. I Have a 6.0 engine and am looking for a build of anywhere between 700 to 1000 horsepower and still be streetable. I do plan on using nitrous to reach that goal also. So any suggestions on a build will totally appreciated. Thanks in advance

Bulletproof bottom end and rwin turbos would be the way togo...bore and stroke it to a 408...I'm running a 408 now and plan on adding turbos in the future

I don't think I can pm you till you have 10 posts, but here you go.
Fully forged bottom end 04 6.0 block bored and stroked to 408ci.
-7cc dished pistons with valve reliefs
H beam rods
ARP everything bolts
241 heads (ported/ milled to 60cc
Comp 918 valve springs
Comp 875 pro mag lifters
Adjustable rocker arms
7.400" pushrods
Trickflow 238/242 .595/.595 112lsa cam
Edelbrock Proflow XT intake
FAST 90mm tb
60lb injectors
I think that's about it for the motor. I street tuned it myself so I've never had it on a dyno. Best time in my car last year was a 12.03...but did some more tuning (enough to feel a difference) after track day so it "should be well in the 11's. My goat weights in at 3665 with me and about half tank of gas

Right now she pulls hard as hell up to 7,000 rpms where I have fuel cutoff set. I have been thinking about a 350 shot to see how it feels.
If you go with better heads than I have and a slightly bigger cam you could make mad power.
I dd my car 40 miles a day so I didn't go quite as big on my cam

With flat top pistons in my 346 I was at 11:1. With the same heads, dished piston with valve reliefs and more cubes I'm at 11.2:1.
Its a daily driver, still have a pretty agressive timing table and runs with no knock on 93 octane...the biggest thing to consider is cam overlap, I have 15 degrees overlap on my cam so I bleed off a good bit of compression.
Even though my static compression is 11.2:1, my dynamic compression is around 9:1 and dynamic compression is what counts when deciding what fuel to run and how much timing to pull

Thanks mark and where is a good place to purchase a stroker kit and reasonable price. And Yea i think ima go with AFR Heads and im going to be using a carb instead of injector and maybe 350 shot. But u have really been a big help LS engine setups and stuff are a lil tricker than the older muscle engines.

I take it your putting this in your Cutlas? If you are you might look at getting a totaled F-body the salvage or auction. That would bive you all the little parts, tranny wiring, fuel system and you could turn around and sell the motor and other pa3ts you don't use. That would give you the option of staying fuel injected easier.
Its been bad times for lots of people out there. Look around for great deals on slightly used strokers in your area.
I picked up my short block with all the good parts in it for $2,400, then paid the guy $100 to deliver it to my house...look new with about 5,000 miles on it and 10 passes down the strip when I got it.
If I went new it would have been closer to $6-7,000 for what I got

mark i thought about going fuel injected but opted out going with a carb. i know a guy that make those harnesses with everything for approx 500 bucks but i think i will get better performance out of a carb but maybe not gas mileage.lol
and yea thats what i been trying to do find someone selling some parts and stuff because yes those stroker kits and stuff arent cheap.lol
but i will keep u up on my progress and if u find any stuff out there that will help me just let me know.

How did I get over 5,500 posts? Major OCD mixed with alittle ADD lol
414 is pushing it...that's why I went 408, that way I still have more meat to takeout later when I clean it up in 100,000 miles...then it might goto a 414
