5.3l build
So I bought a 5.3l, crank ended up being seized. Getting the block/crank/rods and pistons checked. Reassemble with new bearings and arp studs all through. ls7 lifters. With ls6 head gaskets, dual roller timing chain.
Next part is ls1 241 heads, prc dual springs, tsp harden push rods all for 250$. I'm gonna pull the valves, home port the heads. New stems and valves. Get it milled down to stock 5.3l cc's
Throw in a lil John stage 2 turbo cam
Truck intake, truck tb. Aftermarket fuel rails, 80lb injectors. With a gt45 turbo.
Anybody see anything that I'm missing?

Are you dead set on 241's? 5.3 heads are cheap to pick up.

I have a set of 706s already, but from everything I've read the 241s flow a little better stock. And with me doing a home port I can get them a closer flow to the 243s. I'm mainly getting them for the brand new prc dual springs, tsp harden pushrods

Ah...I see. I know most of the turbo guys love the 317's for boost. Have you thought of oil supply and return for the turbo yet?

Well I can do the same thing they do with 317s. Just bigger cc to lower compression. I want to keep close to stock since vehicle/turbo are still unkown. And no right now I'm getting the engine to atleast a longblock- Oil pan till I have the transmission/wiring ecu figured out. Then pick a car/truck

Right now I'm all over the place. Something big enough to easily get the sparkplugs, and for a front mount turbo. So I'm thinking c10, gbody, k5 blazer 2wd, older station wagon.

All good candidates. I would love to make a modern version of a rat rod truck. Used the them but with modern parts.
