After typing out my response to your PM, I'm honestly not sure why you're not already in the 425 hp 410 tq range. Looks like you ought to be a bit higher than you are based on your mods vs mine. You've got the bottom end done and I don't, but I'm running quite a bit more lift. (He asked me not to post the full specs on the cam because, he doesn't want people posting on boards and getting matching grinds from anyone but him, which I will respect)... I guess that makes a big enough difference.

Personally, I'd probably swap cams before thinking about doing heads, your cam just isn't "big" enough on the lift to make use of bigger heads, since you're already running > stock heads, I think your bang for your buck is almost certainly in a $300-400 cam instead of a 1300 (at minimum) on heads.

Depending on what type of compression you're running right now, I suppose getting your heads milled to give you a bump in compression might be soemthing to think about too, and a machine shop shouldn't charge more than a few hundred for that. If you're shelling out for labor though, it might not be worth paying to have the heads pulled though...

A friend of mine has the G5X4. Not sure on his exact hp#s but their over 400rwhp. He runs 11.2-11.3 @122mph. It's a beast.

Why? It's not bad. Not a daily driver so who cares. You can run 4:10s with a 26' tire (same final ratio) just harder to cut mid 1.5Xs. Or 4:30 w/27' tire.

But...the average person running that cam isn't running what those Top 10 cars are.
I never said those cams don't make great dyno numbers or CAN'T make great ET's. But there is a TON more than just the cam that needs to be done to see those ET's.
True there is more to just a cam in order to accomplish an outstanding ET, but for a cam-only car to meet that kind of criteria it takes a potent bumpstick that will allow the supporting mods to achieve it. The T-Rex is one of those cams that doesn't just put out impressive dyno numbers but is infact proven on the track. Several of the quickest cam-only cars in the land, as well as several of the quickest 'cam-only' guys in my F-body club run that cam with sickening results.

You need those steep gears to get the most out of those larger cams.

Most of those cams listed are pushing the limits of piston to valve clearance. They are similiar grinds.

Should be alright with them then.
    Most that run insane ET's with cam-only set-ups run 4.56's with a 28" slick.

I like a friend of mines cam. Sees mostly street time.
    232/232 598/598 112 and touched up LS6 heads.
    400RWHP through a 4.30'd Moser 9". Which is 420 through a 3.42'd 10 bolt.
