400+ cam only cars...
i have a 99 formula M6 car..right now she is getting forged goodies and she has every upgrade i can get right now w/ the acception of under drive pulley, and expensive intake set up...everything else is done...
i am currently running a lunati 234/236 .050 .544/.545 112 lsa cam...i made 380 rwhp and 350 tq when tuned and dynod...i am looking for the 415+ hp and more torque from a cam only set up...and since everybody is going to ask about my mods...i will list ahead of time...
slp lid, SLP cool air pak, K&N filter(s), smooth bellow, 80 mm BBK TB, LS6 intake, MSD wires, NGK Plugs, 853 heads( 3 angle valve job, new locks, guides, retainers) comp hardened pushrods, crane springs .650 lift, crane lifters, ported LS6 oil pump, dbl roller timing chain, polished crank, mahle forged pistons, eagle forged H beam rods, SLP Lt's, 3" ORY loudmouth w/ tips, no cats, no converters...i think that's it...and since suspention stuff doesnt really count on this..i will leave it out..
anyways like i said i am looking for that 415-430 hp cam only #'s

Maple Red Metallic- 2002 Pontiac Trans Am
I did it in my 99 M6 Corvette. LS6 intake manifold, ported TB, LT headers, offroad X-pipe, Vengeance Racing Vindicator cam. Made 440 thru the stock catback.

Lift is pretty low on that cam you have. Only cam only guys I know makin that kind of power have bigger cams like the G5X4 and a FAST 90/90.

TBH if you want thoes numbers the cam you have now would produce what you want with just a set of good heads...

At the end of the day it depends on what you're looking to accomplish.
Do you want to hit a certain number on a dyno? 400 rwhp?
Or would you prefer to obtain a certain performance goal? 12's?
Whatever the case may be, which is more important to you -- low/midrange power or power up top?
What type of driveability requirements do you have? Daily Driver? Weekend Track Star?
Those should really help us give you a bit of advice on cam selection.
When I was cam only with bolt ons I was at 390 rwhp. Doesn't sound like much to shake a stick at upon first glance, however the torque figure was 388 and it made a TON of TQ down low. That translated very well to performance on the streets. While I could've gone with a much larger cam and it would've yielded significantly higher cam-only horsepower numbers, it would've been completely contradictory to what I was trying to accomplish in the end (440+ rwhp and 400+ rwtq).2002 Camaro SS M6, 2.5 PRC 5.3L heads, TFS 228/230 cam, FAST 92, bolt ons + a 10 lb bottle in the back.
1989 Corvette L98, A4, Full bolt ons, etc.

Red Tint Jewelcoat- 2008 Trailblazer SS
Even still....why would you buy new heads and put the stock valves in them? And the old valve seals, and used valvesprings?
Off topic, but...so was my first statement.
To each their own concerning Patriot heads. Very happy with mine.
