Well the only sodium filled valves were on the 02-04 ZO6's......people get confused here on the bolts....the head bolts are fine...get you a new set of APR head bolts for a ls1/6 97-03...where they get confused is the valve cover bolts....if you have parameter valve cover bolts all you ned to do is switch to the center bolts and the coil brackets.....people confuse this and tell folks on the internet the head bolts are different and they are talking about the valve cover bolts/coil pack brackets. I have a set of 243's on the GTO right now......get you a new set of headbolts from any vendor selling ARP for a 97-03 LS1 or LS6....make sure you have the center bolt valve covers with the coil brackets and get you a cam to keep up with the new found flow.......

The combustion chambers are also different as well as the sodium filled lightweight valves.

The LS6 #243 heads had a slightly tighter chamber for a 1/2 point bump in compression. The LS2 heads are of the LS6 design,,,but the combustion chambers are slightly larger to keep compression at bay with the larger bore size on the LS2.

the ls6 head and ls2 heads like said by jones are slightly different but both should give around the same performance gain.
