    2005 ls1 in a 98 T/A

Im lookin at gettin a complete GM Performance Parts ls1 replacement motor for my 1998 T/A. Its moderately priced and comes with a warranty. my question is this - it says the motor is a 2005 (being sold without ECM and wire harness), will I need to do any modifications for it to fit my vehicle?
    Thanks.

how come on their website, they have ls1's for 99'-2000 and 2001-2002? why not just sell one ls1 if they are universal?

You would reuse your TB and your sensers. And you'll want to reuse your injectors also because you should have 28.5# instead of the 26# in later years.

yea if my motor ever goes and I dont want a rebuild, LS6 is going to be my Fall Back plan, plus LS6's are already beasty motors w/ 400 crank hp

for starters a new motor mount that is sold on ebay that sets the mount too the engine inches back so the ls6 is a direct drop in from there

    ??

it's a direct drop in WITHOUT changing anything having to do with mounts...

Have you looked under your hood? Try to imagine your engine moving back...
