Pewter- 2001 Pontiac Transam
Is the 2001 model LS1 transam a good year?
I just bought a 2001 Pontiac Transam automatic car. Is this a good year for the LS1 engine and does it have as much top end power as the 98-00 LS1 cars. I read that the cam on the 2001-2002 LS1 engines were smaller than the 98-00 cams. Is the 98-00 cam a lot better than my cam. Also, what are the average dyno numbers for a 2001 LS1 automatic car. My car is bone stock with 3.23 gears. What does a car like mine normally run in the 1/4 at the track. Thanks

Oh yeah, my T/A is 01 and pewter and I honestly can't think of a car I would trade it for. My wife put the bird from the 79-80 T/A's on the hood for me, tri-color dark charcoal, light charcoal to silver. Came out sweet as hell. It isn't for everyone but I still have some good memories of the 80's and cruesing with the T-tops off and REO speedwagon jamming is good SHHHHHHH....

Oh and mine is a six speed and I do like banging through the gears but it sure seems to be easier and cheaper to get an auto down the track quick.

Blue- 2001 Trans Am Ram Air
i bought a 2001 ram air, and its is awesome. i raced some new mustang GTs that is funny how slow they are. But i have a question, does anyone know about how much more the TAs are with the ls6 in them? I ordered the LS1 to LS6 conversion and would like to know if anyone has done it and how did it turn out?

I had a 2001 Trans Am WS6 black A4 before it was wrecked a couple of years ago. I had taken it to charlotte, nc to have it dynoed, the numbers were 297/309. Now I am looking at a 99 WS6 M6 with 1700 miles on the clock for 17k.
