1.8 rockers
Doing some head work and a cam & headers on my 01 TA LS6. Already have a set of 1.8 ratio roller rockers, self aligning. The guy doing the work doesn't seem to even want to think of using them says it changes the whole geometry of the motor. They are the right rocker for the car so I can't see how that could be a problem. Gotta be more effecient than stock so shouldn't I use them? Anybody use them or have experience with them?

Stock Size is 1.7, unless you have fly cut pistons while running that bigger cam you might run into problems with the valves hitting the pistion, just check for clearence before you fire it up.

Kinda what I figured
So the only thing we have to worry about is not getting to much lift right? If I clear the piston on a full stroke she's good to go?

228/228 .580,.580 112 Not exactly .580 .58 something but I am not looking at it at the moment and I have little memory anymore I think we have come to the conclusion that we will go without them and if I am not satisfied it is easy enough to install them which I probably will because if I think I am even leaving a few HP on the table it is going to eat at me.

O.K. though of another problem
I can wait to install them but with only my valve covers off will I be able to check clearance properly? Don't want to have to take the whole motor down again at that point.

I'd stick with the stock 1.7s with that cam if you're using stock pistons

Yeah the guy keeps telling me not to worry I will have enough, I am just not one that usually feels I have enough power but I guess we are all that way that is why we drive the cars we do. So, anybody want a nice set of 1.8 rockers fresh in the box? And thanks for the info guys

And this is not one of those situations where my usual thought of "do too much and you'll be sure you've done enough" is going to work, so somebody is going to get a nice set of rockers.
