    what hp increase could be expected from installing 1.7 or 1.8 rockers on a stock 99 ls1

    i was looking for bolt on i really dont want to change the cam yet, maybe this winter, just easy cheap boltons or free mods first.

    if you are wanting to do cheaper first mods ...stay out of the engine (no internals) look into getting her breathing right and shitting right (exhaust) on top of that even tho not as fun or "cool" do suspension

    thanks i did not know that,,, this is the first gm product ive ever owned i just left the mopar camp sold a 68 440 dart and shelby z daytona to buy this

    How does 1.8 limit cam choice? It just takes a smaller cam to achieve big numbers.

    Op, If you want 1.8 rockers. Buy them. You WILL see an increase through the entire rpm band with high ratio rockers. Not so much in horsepower but torque.
    They are worth the money to me.

    The little increase you see would be better off with a cam It limits your choice of cam due to the ratio and how much it opens the valves. Duration of a cam dictates valve reliefs (in the pistons) more then lift does but lift does come into play. Rockers are not cheap at all And going from 1.7 to 1.8 is not an increase thats worth 10 cents on these motors. OP, like everyone else said, keep stock rockers and spend your money on other parts of the car.

    Don't forget that changing rockers also means changing valvesprings aswell.
