White/black top, SilverSS- 01 Ford SVT Cobra,00SS
00 SS Engine
Ok...about to be pulling the 00SS motor. It's bein pulled because the head gaskets "must have" gone bad. It steamin under the hood, and the rad. constantly bubbles. And makes horrible noises also.(knocking ) This car ran good before this happened, the only thing bad it did was blow a crap load of black smoke @ WOT. It has a High Stall, Intake,Headers,Maf and probably more that, i cant just think of right now. Im just wondering, while i got this motor out, should i do rod bearings and main bearings??(115K miles) Im doing the oil pump also b/c i hear about how they sometimes just lose pressure outta no-where. Is there anything im missing or might be doing wrong???(also dropping motor from underneath car) or is there any flaws that can be fixed while the motors out that would normally be hard to get to... Thanks!

Replace the MAF with a stock one.
Oil pump isn't bad thing either.

And you can pull the motor with the heads on. We just put the new one in with out them because they were not back from being milled when we dropped it in.

Not like a ford at all. You do not need to replace the MAF when you add mods. I know plenty of cars in the 500-600rwhp range with stock MAF's. Past that some go to Speed density tune and others go with the truck MAF's.

Just get a stock LS6 oil pump. No need to get the ported one. You can get them from Thunder racing, texas speed, speed inc.,
