Here are a few more photos of the engine bay nearly ready to be painted. Obviously the compartments are just sitting there and not lined up, but you get the general drift of how it's going to look. There's also a billet cover going over the strut brace so will look even and finished

I have a photo of the front bar but can't share it with you yet

Thanks fellas! The VE handles were a bit of f*#k around with bending and welding to make fit, especially because I didn't like how the VE doors open and close! The counter weight in the VE's are in the actual handles, where the VY ones are in the doors, so we took the weights out of the handles and hoped that the VY ones would work! They did! So now they open and close like the old Mercedes 500SL's! Beautifully!!

You can just see on the bottom of the door a duct is starting to take form. Well, this is the start of the rear brake ducts and will hopefully have a few finished photos by the end of the week as well as the rear bar and the start of the audio sound system install

Here's the hard drive we're putting in to control everything. This will be done via a 7" touch screen monitor.

Not the best photo but this is the start of the under carriage work (carbon fibre to follow) along with the start of the amp enclosure

Carbon fiber eh? Keeping performance while saving weight. Sounds good to me.

    Thumbs up

Those are some monster HP figures there Rattler

Your thread has prompted me to join this forum as I'm a Darwinite myself. I've only just purchased my new ride from down south and will look at doing some mods to my Monaro soon. I don't think the Mrs will let me spend more than 10% what you have to date! I also know it's a little pretentious to call my Monaro a missile when it's still just stock and your clubby could smoke me just idling

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and let you know you've got another admirer of your work closer to home. As I'm just getting into this fast car scene (midlife crisis I think) I'll need all the local guidance I can get. Like who, other than Kerry Holden should I trust to look after my baby?

Hope to see you around town.

Well she's finally to the paint stage and the engine bay was done over the weekend. The painter is a perfectionist and has spent the last 6 weeks just prepping! Exciting times now as we only have 4 weeks until she's complete!
