For those that requested. 2006 LS4 Monte Carlo SS pictures

Here are some pics for all to enjoy.

303HP stock, got rid of the restrictive airbox and put in the K+N FIPK kit and full cat back exhaust... I am guessing I am around the 310HP mark now.

The Monte looks nice. Very clean. Any more future plans for it?

Because the car has DOD (Dispalcement on Demand) there is very little you can do to it right now. I must admit, fuel economy is awesome. If I am crusing lightly or have the cruise control on...I am running on 4 cylinders.

Just going to keep it as it is right now....

I as talking to some dealership mechanic friends of mine and people are having probelms with the motors, they do rip though, but i heard they can break easy. Did you ever hear of any common pronlems yet, its a new mtor so they havent been tested for years of abuse. My girlfriend is thinkign of gettin one thats why i ask.

Sounds good. Intake and exhaust is plenty. Plus it helps with fuel economy. Maybe some more appearance mods like wheels. But other than that the ride looks great.

Well, they have been using the 5.3L in many chevy trucks for years and years....the engine is not new by any means....What is fairly new is the DOD aspect of it. I have had no problems with mine at all.

Out of curiosity what kind of milage are you getting. I would really like one of those Montes for a DD. It seems there's nothing else to choose from besides a vette or another f-body. I just can't side behide the wheel of a lame ass 4cyl after driving an ls1. These monte's are sweet looking, roomy(at least compared to a f-body) and have some good power, basically everything I would require for a good DD.

I love it! You claim that a dealership mechanic told you that they have problems, but you don't say what problems?

I find gas mileage to be great on the car. Of course if you hammer it all the time, its shit, just like any other LSX. Massive torque and your right...you can do one hell of a smoke show! When it goes into 4CYL mode, the exhaust sounds like a helicopter kinda...I like it..it still sounds mean!

I'M guessing Massive torque steer to the right or left when you hammer it.

Unless they have a torque management system that cuts your power down then.
