    My 98 Z28 build thread...

Bought my car about 2 weeks ago. I had a 88 IROC Z28 but had to sell it after a motorcycle accident. Recently I was hit on my bike again and used the money from the bike to buy a 98 Z28. Since Ive had it I have replaced the radio with a Kenwood X-586, replaced the fuel filter, knock sensors, and oil pressure sending unit. I also replaced the 2 front calipers as the were starting to hang up. Have somethings in mind for the next few weeks. Hope ya'll enjoy. People on here have already been so helpful. Thank you

Be careful if you're caught out in the rain. That ram air scoop acts like a ramp into the intake if you hit a deep enough puddle.

I like the new lights, it's the one thing I hate on my Trans Am.

I probably won't ride to much in the rain. Got my truck for that. getting some more goodies later this week.

When i installed the intake I was not sure where the rubber seal goes.

Gotta get the halos hooked up

Did some more over the last few weeks. Got my Loud Mouth 2 exhaust hooked up. Port and polished the throttle body. Painted the calipers and installed new pads and rotors. Hooked up the halos. And installed KYB adjustable shocks in the rear.

    Congrats! Sharp looking car.

The brake caliper pins like to seize up on our cars. Any time you service the brakes, pull the pins and clean both the pins and the bores. Then put it all back together with a generous dose of synthetic caliper grease.

Thank you. I am gong to pull the left front soon. Howling like a banshee. Really is embarrassing, car looks good but the sound takes away from that, lol.

I don't like thinking about what I spent on our exhaust system. The sound and look and is exactly what I had hoped for though.

So I recently deleted the egr/air. Sent the PCM to frost to get it tuned. Can't wait to get it back. Also took out the BCM and had a friend fix the solder point in it. Hopefully as is well when I get the computer back.

Remember that it'll take a bit for things to settle in. On initial start up the engine may run like crap or even stall.

Got the tuned PCM in. Runs great. Started right up. Changed out the PS pump and pressure hose today.
