I have a ls1 with ls6 head 243 casting i got the motor from turn key engines.it is rated at 450hp then they did some head work to get it a little more i recently had it dynoed they said it was running lean and bumped me up to the green injectors.I want to build a new motor for next season and thats why i am here to see what you all think would be the best bang for my buck.I dont have alot of knowledge about motors but i do my homework.Any suggestion and reason why would be helpful.I NEED MORE HP.

yeah if you like some spray (nitrous) it would wake it up with the best bang for your buck and what a jump you will get .Did you get the ls6 cam or stock cam ?with a ls6 cam it wakes up the nitrous better . sick jumps man !!

Thanks 402 I want to stay away from spray. When the wallet allows I want to run baja.So i need a healthy motor that can run a 1000 miles.I have been keeping my eye on the ERL 500 inch ls2 short block.I think this would fit and no extra fab work. But I dont know the $ amount for this thing complete and if i could I could save any money using any exsiting parts.

re sleeving the ls1 would be the only way to get that sort of displacement. I would go with a blown lsX block. If you have a local shop do it it might be cheaperr than going with the big cube block.
