    Another Build Thread

I have been in contact with Texas Speed over the last month or so. Today they sent me an itemized list of parts for a H/C/I set up. When I get off of work I will post what they sent me. I still need to price a rear end and gearing.

Gonna be a nice weather driver with limited track use just FYI. It will be a couple months before I buy all the parts and get it to a shop here in Houston to do the work. The place is called LMR (Late Model Racecraft). They build a lot of f-bodies. I have a feeling their install price may be a bit pricey but we will see.
Suspension: Lower control arms (Spohn), Drive shaft safety loop, Torque arm (Edlebrock), Strut tower brace, Panhard Bar (BMR)

Under the Hood: Smooth bellows, Lid, Catch can, LT Headers, ORY, AIR/EGR delete, Poly engine/transmission mounts,

Exterior: Painted brake calipers (Red), Halo “Spyder” Headlights w/matching parking/turn signals (Black)

Sorry, couldnt post it tonight. For those of you who have an idea of my situation, my sons are in Houston with me until September 29th. After work, I get focused on spending my time with them. When I get a lil free time (nap time tomorrow) I will post it to get feedback and do's and dont's.

well.....at least tell us what heads and cam you went with. Don't need the whole list just yet. Is doing the install yourself completely out of the question? You could save an ass load of money doing it yourself. If you follow the write up at LS1howto.com there's virtually no way to screw it up as long as you take your time and follow that write up. It's almost as simple as loosening some bolts....swapping parts and tightening some bolts back down. There is nothing complicated about that swap really. Oil pump tube bolt is tricky and that's about it. Well....they say it's tricky but I had zero issues getting it out and back in.

If my Dad allows me to do it at his house, I am sure I could do it myself. Never really gave it much thought cause I would rather give it to someone and have it back in a week or two. But the idea of tinkering myself would be way more rewarding. In the end its up to my Dad since its his garage.

    Here is a copy/pasted version of the list;

    - Precision Race Components LS6 Stage 2.5 CNC Cylinder Heads
    - Texas Speed & Performance Torquer v.2 Camshaft: 232/234, .595/.598, 112 LSA
    - Manley 7.40-Inch Length Hardened Pushrod, 5/16-Inch Diameter, Per Pushrod
    - FAST 102mm Cathedral-Port Intake Manifold
    -PTM 102mm Throttle Body
    - FAST Fuel Rail Kit for LSXr
    - FAST Intake Manifold Gasket Kit for FAST Cathedral-Port #146302 Intake Manifold
-GM Front Coolant Pipe for LS6 Intake Manifold
    - GM Rear Coolant Plugs for LS6 Intake Manifold
    - Basic Heads & Camshaft Bolt & Gasket Kit
    - GM LS1/LS2 Timing Cover Gasket
    - GM LS1/2/3/6/7/92 Water Pump Gasket, Each
    - GM LS1 Front Crankshaft Seal
    - GM 5.7L LS1 Multi-Layer Steel Cylinder Head Gasket, PAIR
    - ARP LS1 Hex Head Bolt Kit, LS1/LS6- Based Engines
    -ARP LS1 Harmonic Balancer Bolt
    - Yank Super Stock 3200

might as well add a powerbond underdrive pulley to the list as long as you're taking the old one off....might as well put the underdrive back on there.

That intake sounds expensive. Not interested in doing an LS6 intake? Save you some money. Sounds like you wont out flow an LS6 with that setup. Sidenote, glad to see you are settled in.

The LS 6 is good for 500 rwhp airflow. You can get them used for about a third of the price of the intake you are planning on getting. And, you won't be to that point with your build. You can also reuse your current MAF with the LS6 intake. I think you would be better off putting your money towards something else. I got the impression you aren't made of money, so that is why I am putting it out there for you.

Just reuse all your other intake parts. The LS6 is the same as the LS1, except it flows better, and does not use the EGR stuff. You missed the LS6 intake by one year. It came from the factory on mine. They ran out of the LS1 intakes and started installing LS6's. Same with the blocks. It is probable that I have an LS6 block in my car. Ill do some research and find you a couple of links that will explain this better. http://www.ls1.com/forums/f63/how-do...intake-126647/ This one explains how to tell which is which, and includes a link on how to r and r it.http://www.ls1.com/forums/f6/throttle-body-132201/ This one talks about reusing your TB and just p and p it. Punch in LS6 intake into the search bar and you will see these threads and many more.
