Modding a v-6 to be different depends on the model. The Supra has a v-6. How about a GN, it has a V-6. Why not get a different car with a v-8?

It sounds kinda silly to put all that money into a car with low potential. Sorry, but it sounds like its related to rice to me.

Its your car, but $10 says you wont have the car in 5 years. Youll either forget this hobby or move on to bigger and better things.
Thats because this is an LSx forum that not many people have... i just thought i'd get the v6 section active because it hasnt been.

And notice i said 3.8 not just v6. And I listed the reason why I'm not getting a v8.

And low potential? Sure it costs a pretty penny but on another forum theres a 3.8l firebird that just dynoed at 503hp... For me it would pretty much cost just as much to make mine as fast as an LS1 as it would to sell mine and buy one.. sure maybe a little more. But for the reason I listed and insurance wise i like my car

Oh, whoops, I just kept going with the 6 cylinder discussion, but I think the point was made.

And this is different from an LS1 car how? They dont' have as good an aftermarket for the v6 f-body, true, but there are v6 mustangs in the 9's. Figure it out, it isn't about being the fastest car in the world. There are 3 second dragsters out there that "even the mighty ls1" couldn't beat... it's like me telling you to buy a corvette. Do what you like and I will too.

    Agreed.
But youve never shook your head at a ricer? Or any car for that matter where the owner spent money on things you found useless?

Shit, this could even apply to cars with big stereos. Why spend all that money on shit you can only you use legally at car shows?

Idiots do make the world a funny place, though.

Meh.. I try not to judge people. If I did, I might as well just assume that everybody who gets into cars and performance is either a ricer or a redneck. I go on a person-by-person basis, and I don't care if it's an '86 minivan they build... I call 'em idiots when they do stupid things that don't enhance performance, not before I see 'em though.

I will post up an on topic thing for you here 2000pontiac6,
my best time is a 14.64 @ 96 with a lid, pacesetters and loudmouth.

And just to give all of you who are so concerned with taking out LS1 and LT1's and wondering what a 100 shot will do. The same day I was running my car a guy with a 100 shot, cam, full exhaust adn 4.10's ran a 12.2 @ 109. So that should give a good idea of what a V6 is capable of. (Also I will add that he pulled teh front tires on that run.)

A friend of mine runs 14.7 natural with no spray on his 2000 5 speed 3.8. Everything from injectors to muffler was changed. Internally is stock. 105k miles and still consistent as hell.

I don't drag race but do AutoX and I run within a second gap to the v8 guys. But there are v8 guys who run way slower than I do, but thats because they try to put too much power into the turns and lose control. Sometimes power isn't your best friend.

We(Abbott Racing Heads) have sold two head/cam/intake packages for 3.8 F-body's that run SCCA. One guy set the track record in his class at Laguna Seca in California and the other guy qualified on the pole position in Kansas at the national finals or world finals whatever it was in 2006.
