V6 mods
I have a 97 3.8 firebird and wanted to know what some good mods would be to improve performance. Thanks.

Long tube headers, air intake lid, k&n filter, and a custom tune.

Just google it. Don't settle for shorties. Long tubes are out there. Summitracing.com had midlengths with a y-ppipe which would be alright, but look for longtubes

Longtubes are in the making right now. FFF (force fed fabrications) is curretly working on them. I would do headers (pacesetter are a good cheap choice), a lid, and a nice cat back to start. If you have an auto i would look into a shift kit, or if manual a nice short shifter. Then look into a tune. Their is plenty of stuff to do after that, just depends on how much you want to spend. Come join us at v6f-body.com and we can get you any info you need.

97s don't have a lid and FFF's Longtubes have been done and out for around a year now.

my bad, didn't even think about it being a 97. He is correct, so you can build you a nice cheap one or find one off ebay. as far the headers, yes they have been out, however their was a problem with the suppliers the next batch isnt available just yet, though it should be soon.

I don't know about the v8 thing. I would trade up too, but like every v6 vs. v8 arguement before, people want to be different and are attached to their cars. Porting and a cam and he's in the 13's

A buick Grand National is nothing too sneeze @ when modded. Even stock they were quick. I'd look into a turbo or SC setup if you're serious about modding a 6er...
