    1999 Firebird 3.8 series

    Transmission convert?

    I havee a 99 bird 3.8 auto.. The auto is just a down fall for me. If I were to buy a 5 speed tranny and slab it on my car what problems will I fall into? Driveshaft length? Wireing harness? Would this be too pain in the ass todo?

    You'd need a 5 speed harness, convert your neutral safety switch wiring to a clutch switch, a 5 speed pcm or do a full reprogram, shifter trans hydraulics and crossmember. I think the drive shaft is the same though a ls alumkinum driveshaft fits and is an upgrade
    Also will need pedals
