I don't think they work in f-bodys because the intake of the sc would be pointing at the fire wall, but i'm not 100% sure. could work in an s 10 if there is room to run an intake w/90 elbow maybe

You can make it work in both the S10, and the 4th gen f-body.

Just have to make a U-turn..

Of course there's a little more to it than that but definetly can be done.

There's also always the procharger type system route too, and of course turbo charging also.

    Agree!

    Only issue will be,,, traction!

Seeing how you already have a WS6 TA you're prolly already used to going sideways..

I bet they are, the L36 plugs are hard enough let alone that setup.

They prolly could have been thought threw better but it looks like they were working with a shoe string budget,

judgeing from the CPVC schedule 40 pipe and the kinked manifold coolant hose..

I planned on doing that to my exsisting 01 y87 L36 before I got rid of it.

Before that happened I desided on a DOHC v8 in the Northstar brands..

Then I got rid of before I even got started since I wanted an H3 Hummer and already have a 3 year old unfinished TT project..lol

Without a better pulley the eton90 is only ~40-45hp gain over the L36.

Hardly worth the work of changing over to an FWD L67 when they could have just used the L36 and bolted on a procharger or bottled it, and been in LS1 or better territory instead.

I've heard people say the L67 block and rods are stronger yet provide no proof.

I think they just want to believe that.

I've been inside both the L36, and L67 series-II,, both have the same castings,, there is no differences.

Only the 3800 Series-I had differences in the blocks between the SC and N/A engines and a couple different heads.

Later when the Series-II arived, it was more cost effective for GM to use the same castings for both L36 and L67 since the overal design was improved.

Lower compression pistons, slightly heavier valve springs, greater lb/hr injectors, and injector bungs in the heads are the only REAL differences between the two..

Injector bungs can be drilled into the L36 heads to change them over if wanted.

This is because the L36 head castings have L67 bung provisions that were just left undrilled.

GM could have used the L36 higher compression pistons and gave the eton a better pulley but they needed to sell LS1's..

Russel listed all the parts needed to do the swap in his thread.

There's also the 3.4/3500 hybrid swaps too.

    ..and Grand Am heads??

I think Ed ran a procharger or some other side mount SC on his 3800..

Can't remember. It's in the post your 3800 thread.

But ya, I have yet to see anyone make a "kit" for it.
