Black- 2000 Camaro
Suggestions
Hello,
I got a 2000 Camaro V6, so I have 5k to spend and I want more WHP. I need your suggestions to make a good investment.
This is what i got on it:
Engine 3800. 97k miles
Automatic Trans (rebuilt)
Lower Springs 1.8"
MSD Coils
MSD Wires
Ravin Muffler
K&N Air filter
20" Rims
Rear Cross Drilled rotor
NOS kit (Bottle and Selenoide: dry, wet. NOT installed)
Sorry for my english, I'm learning. Thanks.

Gotta give us your goals as far as horse power and so forth..
First you need to get the big wheels off of it..
You only have 200 hp crank the wheels are hurting you..
Should'nt run bigger than a 17 inch wheel. My opinion..
What axle ratio do you have..?
Is the car a y87 performance packaged car?
Are you thinking normally asperated or forced induction?
Is the car tuned for nitrous?

Smittro:
First the car looks amazing with those 20", you can check my perfil and see my car. I have no idea what is the axel radio and packaged, i think it is stock so, where can i see that? The nos kit is not intalled yet. If I'm honest I like forced induction but I think that I need more money.
DannyK:
I thought that, but I found them no less than $10k

The axle ratio and any performance packages will be list on the inside edge of the drver door when you open it.. There there should be a sticker with the RPO codes listed..
$5000 is'nt going to be quite enough for forced induction unless you go used and even then you'd likely run into over run costs..
There are a few options for the N/A cars but you'll be limited as the after markets for the 3800 are geared more towards forced induction..
However, there are headers, cams, CAI's, cat back exhausts and so forth..
None of which will net you huge gains N/A
None will be over that of tuned forced induction..
Spray will definetly give you a "cheaper" boost but then it needs refilled and can be drained in one night of fun..
Then...you're stock again..Last edited by Smittro; 04-05-2011 at 03:59 AM.

Ps. the 20's will just speed up your already weak 10-bolts death..
The 10-bolt axle is a weak unit reguardless of what engine you have..
Especially if running nitrous..Last edited by Smittro; 04-05-2011 at 04:00 AM.

sebring silver- Y2K SS CAMARO
17's or even 18's would look a hell of a lot better then those 5th gen 20's but to each his own.
im spraying my ss and just fyi you need to be careful nitrous is addicting and if your not careful you can mess shit up real fast especially if you are a newb when it comes to the stuff. and just like smittro said you HAVE to have it tuned for spray before you even touch the button

18's would look good on it.. However 100+ ft/tq less and over 100 cubes smaller than you LS1 monster guys.. Start going too large in dia. then the lousy 180 to the road startes to show big time.. Especially in torque.. I went to a 45 side wall on my 16 flakes from the 55's it had stock and picked up almost a full second in 0-60 mph times.. But the tires were auto-x super stickies because it would just spin on street tires.
