    Oil Pressure

I bought a used 94 Firebird V6 with about 190K on it, everything is fine until it gets warm then the oil pressure drops to zero on the dash but when I rev it it comes back up. Any ideas?

Just a little rattling which I was assuming was the exhaust or possibly a cat heat shield, I haven't had a lot of time or money to do much of anything to it. During the summer when I used it a couple of times the engine temp would get a little warm but not overheating and when I would be on the highway and moving 50 or above the temp would be rather low I am assuming the thermostat is stuck open but I haven't had the time or tools to change it.

had that issue on a previous car. had to replace the radiator. and get the system flushed with compressed air and water, in addition to the thermostat repalcement

Yeah it was pretty cheap, the only thing is the leather thing around the shifter had broken off from the center console, any idea how that comes off so I can replace it?

just recently had that same little racket under my car at 199k, thought it was my clutch so i replaced, still made racket. then the radiator blew so i replaced then the oil gauge did exactly as u described and 3 days after the noise got bad worse. Come to find out that noice was a spun crank bearing. I can almost promise u its not the sending unit but at that milage ur oil pump has quit so the gauge is reading right. id advise have this checked out before u end up in the boat i did and having to buy a new motor why didnt i put an LS1 back in its place

I have been considering an engine swap for the future any ideas what it would cost for parts or an idea where to go to find out? Could I put an LS2 in there or would it be cheaper to get a 02 TA for all the labor and parts (I would have to have a shop do the install)?

if u dont wanna put the v6 back in i think it would be cheaper in the long run to buy a newer T/A but it is possible to put a lsx in your car but you have to change wiring harness, computer, and bellhousing on the transmission. in the end of that process you will be doing this
