    HP/TQ numbers for a 96 camaro

My buddy has a 1996 camaro with the 3800 series v6 in it. Its a automatic trans and the only mods are a flowmaster exhaust. He wants to know what numbers he would be putting down at the rear wheels.

should be somewhere around 170, thats a rough estimate though. factory was 225 at the crank i think, and autos lose ~25% through the tranny and diff. I could be wrong though

they are only 200hp crank from factory, but and should be putting down 160-170 completely stock. boring is not a big gain on our cars and is usually reserved for honing out a block when being rebuilt. i would put a small shot of gas on it if he is looking for some power.

yeah, i think ive read somewhere that the 3.8 responds to nitrous pretty well. my mechanic was telling me that our of the 3 engine sizes, 3.4, 3.8, and 5.7, the 3.8 is the most reliable, but i dunno if he was referring to the LT1 or LS1 5.7

Yea the 3.8 is very reliable. I want to say it is the top 10 list. A 3.8 loves the spray. on a car with intake and exhuast it can usually take up to a 100 wet (75 dry), with fuel pump you can pump it on up to 125 usually before you start to run out of injector.(of course a few more mods would be better here)
