    Yeah it's been quite a bit of work..

    Mostly due to me lacking the time I thought I had..

    A 6 month project comming up on 2 years now....

    Quick update, Just got the new(used 3.1) running today. So far so good other than when idleing it goes up and down a few hundred rpm. I'm gonna drive it to work tomorrow, while crossing my fingers. It did have a few codes I cleared them thinking they may not come back.

    EGR and/or the IAC can cause the irratic idle.. Dirty MAF can as well.

    Update.......

    I got 1 week out of the new used motor. Traded it off yesterday for a grandprix. The car was not worth more than 1200 I couldn't put another motor no matter how cheap it was. It was an experience though.

    That sucks!

    I think you'll be happier with the GP tho..

    W-bodies are good platform imho.

    I had a 3.1 GP years ago..

    Yes it does suck, thats how we learn though. The gp has the 3.8 and still has warranty.

    keep an eye on the intake..

    The plastic ones like to leak coolant after a while..

    But the engines are very sound units tho other than that..

    200k no prob with care.. Congrats!
