upper control arm removal
i think i have an upper control arm bent (from a curb) i have some tire lean on the top. i was wondering how to take it off to compare it to a good one to see if it is bent.

F-Bodys don't have upper control arms. They have lower control arms and a torque arm. What do you mean by tire lean?

Am I bad. Stupid!*%^%X I thought, nevermind!!
Yes. There good if you want to go that route.
I dont know that you need something like that, but I always say if your gonna replace it, replace it with something worth it. Is the tire wearing even.

thats ok. not sure if it is wearing i put it in the garage only 10 miles from the accident, now it is been in since october. i've had time to work on it and was going to put a replacement on and then get it aligned in the spring. how do you get the two bolts out there dont seem to be enough room to get them out before they hit the wheel well.

Another option for a new Upper arm is the global west.
http://www.globalwest.net/camaro93.htm
They use a DEL-A-LUM bushing which is quieter than the poly and won't require the same maintenance schedule as the rod ended one (posted above)

most likely, you have a bent spindle and not a bent upper control arm, if the tiree is leaning outward from the top. i spun out in my car. when it happened, i bent the lower ball joint and the spindle from the tire hitting the curb sideways. also, snapped the rack and pinion assembly.
to get the upper control arm out, you have to pull the shock out as well. the bracket for the control arm sits on top of the upper shock mount.

well thanks guys but the a-arm is ok . so now looking at the spindle it does not look bent. where is the adjustment on the control arm or k-member, i am going to take it to a front end shop but it is january (no insurance on it ) and the nearest front end shop is 20 miles away i would at least like to eyeball it before i drive it there.

you won't be able to see it bent by looking at it. it will bend right where the curve is. the adjustment for camber and caster is on the lower control arm bolts.
