Torque arms what to choose?
I was just wondering what's the best torque arm. Mine just broke the tail off the tranny. I was looking for something that goes good with SFC on a daily driver maybe a tunnel brace mounted one or just any suggestions what do you recommend and what brand?

I wouldn't go with a tunnel brace mount. They are a bit much for a DD. Get a new tranny mount with a relocation kit and pretty much any aftermarket torque arm will work well.

I saw one car that had the 3-point sfc and a tunnel mounted torque arm. why do you think its not very good for a DD I was thinking of getting a 402 short block to fix up and put in there.

Kinda the sound when the mount goes out? What if you get diff mounts? IS there a SFC Set up that can work with the torque arm relocation Bracket?

The ones I've seen all have the same mounts. It allows the front of the torque arem to "swing", instead of sliding in the mount like the stocker. And yeah, it sounds like a bad mount, or a loose control arm.
As for a set up that does both...they all do. The transmission mount is what is changed for the relocation. You get a new tranny mount that has a bracket welded to the bar for the torque arm mount. What i did was install the 3 point SLP SFC's a relocation kit, and a tunnel brace with driveshaft loop. You can see in some of these pics.

I have a Spohn Adjustable Tunnel Mounted Torque Arm with Driveshaft Loop. I put it on with I installed my 9" and did my H/C/I swap. I fought with it for almost an hour getting it on, and that was when it was on a lift

I run a similar set up. UMI 3 point SFCs, UMI torque arm relocation bracket, and tunnel brace w/ driveshaft loop. I run a Spohn torque arm. I love the set up, and would highly recommend using a relocation kit. BMR, and UMI are companies I know make them off hand. Be sure to be specific when ordering as the relocation kits are tranny specific. Also, you had expressed concern about a tunnel brace clearing your exhaust. Not sure how your X pipe is run, nor do I have experience with true duals. But this type of setup has had no problems with my LTs and 3" Y pipe

looked into it further. If you browse the TD sticky in the External Engine forum you'll see some pics of 3" X pipe and a tunnel brace
