which sway bars

ive narrowed things down to two sway bars. the Spohn 32mm solid front and 22mm solid rear chrome-moly sway bars or the Hotchkis ~36mm hollow front and 25.4mm solid rear steel bars. Which ones would give the better handling?

I hate to muddy the waters for you but take a good look at sam strano's sway bars. He runs his stuff on his race cars.

summit sells a very heavy, 35mm solid one if you're on a budget, but the strano one is only like $40 more and would be well worth the price differnce for the weight savings

only thing that seems kinda off about the stranos is that the front bar is a solid 35mm while the rear is a hollow 22mm. seems like the front bar might be a little too heavy and the rear a little too light. the spohn is a solid bar also in the front but its 32mm and chrome moly which is prob a lot lighter but the same strength right? hotchkis is 35mm front but hollow so also definetly lighter.

Drop Sam Strano and email or give him a call. A long while back he explained the reason for his combination and I don't remember what it was.

They use to both be hollow, but due to the added cost of the hollow bar for the front (going to the solid front dropped the price something like $70), he decided to go to a solid unit. The reason he left the rear hollow is because its unsprung weight where as the front isn't.

Sam sells both Hollow and Solid Front bars I have the Hollow set.
There was a material problem IIRC and thats why he removed the hollow front bars from the website and changed the Pkg's. When all is correct I believe they will be available again.

im def gonna go with stranos rear hollow bar then for sure. but i think im gonna go with the spohn 32mm solid bar for the front since its chrome-moly and lighter but still has the strength of a larger steel bar.

I don't think hes gonna go back to the hollow front. That would mean upping the cost again, which I believe is the reason for the change.

Thats not a wise decision. Just got with the Strano front and rear.

I have to agree with squee on this.
If you go with a 32/22 combo your going to have a setup that will tend to oversteer, where as the 35/22 combo is more balanced.

ive had 5 camaro's and will tell you from experience do not go 32 front you will regret it and want more bar up front. I had 32 front and 21 rears on my 1st camaro and completely went to strano 35mm and 22 out back and never looked back. Its completely different going from 32 to 35mm without a doubt the steering if you think is better with the 32 its much much better with the 35 the turn in and body roll is alot better and the car handles much more balanced. If you drive a camaro with the 35 up front and 22 outback you will know what i mean by regreting going smaller on the fronts. On my 01 i will be putting 35mm front and 22 out back, Either way handling is preference, GL.

so i guess everyone agrees 35/22. i was just worried about the weight of a solid 35mm bar in the front but if everyone says its good then i guess thats it lol

I can't see the weight difference being more than a pound or two. Battery relocation would offset that and more.

yes there is a difference between hallow and solid and it is more then just a pound or two but its significantly better then your stock 30 and much better then a 32. Weight, im no expert and cant comfirm but should not weigh much more then 10lbs then a hallow. Considering people add alot more weight then that buy adding subframe connectors, strut bars and so on. Go with strano 35/22 and you wont look back its a good set up without a doubt. Im sure someone can help you out more with the weight differences between hallow and solid.

so using a solid 35mm bar up front is adding somewhere between 10-15lbs when compared to a hollow front bar.
