suspension packages. what to get

This is a discussion on suspension packages. what to get within the Suspension and Handling forums, part of the General Help category; proper damping will help in all situations... may it be cornering, drag, confort, etc....

    BMR REAR SUSPENSION Package on thunderracing.com......i think it was 730$ with hugger orange paint.....Best thing i have ever done to my car....UNBELEIVABLE DIFFERENCE!!!!

    TSP Rumbler, LT's, TSP Tqr2, PRC 921 Springs, Comp Lifters, Chromoly 7.4" Pushrods, Titanium Retainers/Seats/Seals, ARP head bolts, BMR full Rear suspension

    That pretty much rules out BMR out of the box.
    BMR products are great if you drag only... if handling and proper damping is in your requirements, I wouldn't go the BMR route.

    2 reasons for that:
    1. stock shocks a total POS... anything is better than them
    2. chances are you haven;t tried many setups, therea are many better out there.

    well yea i still got stock shocks....
    Well no I havnt tried many set ups....but b4 this my cammed and stalled car couldnt hook up on the street what so-ever.....it was rediculous I couldnt come near flooring it below 30-35 mph.....now i could damn near do it at 10.....itll chirp and burn em mayb a little but itll still go in a straight line

    well is there a set u can buy where u dont have to worry about adjusting em???

    Ok this sounds dumb.....but a pretty reputible guy on this site told me to go with v6 springs.....what u think????

    v6 springs are softer than the v8 ones... i would' go that route.
    they might help you slightly if you ONLY care about 1/4 mile.
    I wouldn't do it on the street... v8 is heavier and you need a minimum spring rate to avoid too much suspension travel.
    You simply need shocks that will damp the springs you have properly... You can get Bilstein revalved to proper specs and you'll be very happy... cheaper than adjustable ones and if speced right, outperforms the adjustable ones, anyways.
