I was checking out some sfc's and i guess it just looked like there isn't much to them. I was wondering if there is anything special that goes into them or if i can make my own? I just can't see paying 150 for a couple slabs of metal with mounts. Please tell me if i am mistaken. I think after a lid and bellows this should be my next step.

I never thought $150 was bad. I guess if you are good at welding and know how to use a pipe bender you could do it.

Even so, you probably wouldn't get it right the first time.
    Better off just buying them.

I think that with the headaches it would cause trying to get them right it would be much easier to pay $150. I bought some for mine and didn't find it to be a bad price.

He didn't want to pay $150.
There is no way he could find a 3 point for that price.
    Though,I have been wrong before.

That is what I got. I am very happy with them.
The best part; I didn't even have to jack the car up to install them.
I got the bolt on sfc's by the way.

I have the weld-in 2 point UMI ones and it was definitely a noticeable difference in the ride after.

+2... I just made some home made ramps, to lift one side at a time, and a simple ratchet and a friend to hold stuff... you feel the diffrence... but sometimes I wonder if it was worth it... I mean it was about 30-35lbs that it adds to the car... and my car has a solid top so it's not like it's beneficiary for my NONE existent T-Tops

I weight each one... both about 15lbs wroughly... I felt the difrence cause my car is lowerd...and around here that means Scrape Central... and after I put the bars on, it started to scrape more then before... (not as exagerated as it may sound)

I have the 2 Point SFC... BTW...

^that sounds cool. Its not that i am really that cheap its just that i am good with a welder and stuff like that. I have never seen them up close so i didn't know what went into them. Just can't see that much from bend and painted metal that's all. But i'll take them off your hands is you don't need them anymore. email me egod666@msn.com

I bought the 3 point UMI's from WS6 Store. They weigh alot but the ride quality, no more squeaks & rattles, and handling is well worth the sacrifice.

It would be nice to fab up your own SFCs though. I suggest looking at several designs and look at where they fit on the car and go from there.

Thanks for the info guys, i'm still pretty new to the f-body ( i used to own a 75 a-body) but i'm reading as much as i can to avoid some rookie questions. The other thing that i was looking into was some Nitto 555 drag radials cause i have slow leaks on my front and were going to do a swap, but i don't know what size i can get cause Nitto says one thing and Summit says another. I have 16in wheels.
