    Springs - BMR vs. Stranos

Without either company rep/sponsor stepping in, I'd like to hear from users who have had these springs on their 98-02 F-Body and used it as a daily driver. Any input would be greatly appreciated - how was your experience with the purchase process? the install? afterwards? How long have you had them on your car, how many miles have you put on them and would you use it again if you could go back?

    Thanks!

First off, neither is a sponsor here.

No personal experience with Stranos, only read good things about them though.

Had BMRs on mine for about 5 years now(not a daily), been highly pleased with them. I wished I could go lower with my stance, but Oklahoma roads don't allow for that. I would buy them again as well.

i'm pretty sure bmr copied stranos. so stranos older ones are the same as bmr's new ones. strano have some new ones out i have them but not installed.

I have the Strano springs and Koni shocks. I love the stance and have no complaints. The car handles extremely well. Had them installed since June only though.

I also have LT's and after lowered with the Strano's, I have about 4" of ground clearance with the collector.

Y2K bought his 4 or 5 years ago. I bought my BMR's at the same time. They are great springs. And as he states Oklahoma roads can be rough even on the BMR's. Would like to go lower myself.

bmr's newer springs copy strano's design. So the older ones verses new ones will be different. I like my strano's but I don't think I have ever heard of anyone elses springs sagging like eibach.

I saw on another thread that the BMR copied springs use a different material than the Strano's and aren't quite as good.

I don't know if there is any validity to that or not. I haven't researched it myself.

Your ride quality will suffer quite a bit from what I have heard. The stock shocks are at best sub-par. They will not be able to properly handle the spring rate loads from the aftermarket springs I don't think.

    Someone else will confirm.

    it's true.

I have Strano springs and Koni 4/4's, love them for my car. Plus it's nice supporting the little guy who puts out great products and is competing against the giants (BMR)

That's strange, BMR suggested I'd be fine if I wasn't racing auto-x if I used their springs with stock shocks

You probably will be...just will feel like you have 100 psi in each tire and feel every little pebble you drive over

I dunno, but I've heard and read otherwise.

You can but the shock you have is not valved for any aftermarket spring rate. Lots of people do it, it's just that for those who wish to get the most out of there suspension don't skimp on springs or shocks.

Yeah I'm just looking to lower my daily driver from it's current 4x4 stance and get a great ride out of it. Sounds like I'll have to go Koni's

There are cheaper routes that will work, but Koni's are the best and the Koni/Strano combo is the best available for our cars.

If I'm not auto-xing would KYB or SLP Bilst. Get the job done? Or will I just regret going cheap even on just a daily driver?

I believe the Bilsteins are second best, after the Koni's. Wait for others to chime in.

KYBs don't get the job done sitting still. Might as well cross those off your list now.
