But a street tire in that size isn't going to come close to the grip of a R compound slick in 275/40-17 and it won't last on the track. I probably don't need to say it, but DO NOT run a drag radial out back while auto-xing or rr-ing.

I just gain more power !! went to tire rack found bfg g force R in 18"'s and yes nothing beat an R compund but I just wanted to go steet tires and brag on how I got a time with street tires on!! and yeah no autox with drag radial on I dont even like drive on the street with them!!!

however in R compund I found that they come in 275/35/18 and 295/30/18 vs. 275/40/18 and 295/35/18 ps2 being R rated I dont think I whould mind at all being 5 points smaller!! I am thinking of going with number 3 on the tire combo list that I have made!!

With the 18's, if you insist on staggering sizes, I'd run 275/35 up front which is roughly the same tire height as stock. Out back, 295/30-18 will have a slightly shorter tire height, but well within the margin of error so that the ABS will function and will be less than 2mph slower off stock tire height in the speedo. That will give you an extra blink of the eye if you don't immediately notice the po-po in the median. If you're going to get a tune, it should be changed anyway.

The PS2 isn't a R compound tire, it's a street tire. It's one of the best street tires, but won't be comparable to a real R compound slick like a Pilot Sport Cup, Ecsta V710, GForce R1, or Hoosier A/R6.

Also, the price difference between 275/35-18 and 295/30-18 is $120 per tire in the PS2. I know you keep saying price is no object, but at some point it has to be or we'd all be driving McLaren's. The 295 isn't going to give you 33% more grip for that extra .8" tread size even though it's 33% more expensive, probably not even 5%. You might even consider another street tire (if you're going to drive much on the street), the Conti ExtremeContact DW which TireRack's avg reviewer rating is equal to the PS2 and runs $255 for 275/35-18 vs. $339 for the PS2 in the same size. It will wear alot better as well.

"Dude", I misunderstood your post because this paragraph didn't mention the BFG R1. Just trying to be helpful. Good luck.

You can fit a bigger tire up front than in the rear, its not unheard of. Some people run 315 all around. Il l have to look into the offset for you though.
