    Replaceing rear shocks

    How difficult is it to replace the rear shocks? i have the chilotons but ive never done it before, would it be a cheap job at the shop or no? and any tips when im doing this like other things to look at or lube up or anything why'll this task is being done thanks.

    It is not difficult. If you are mechanically inclined, have a good set of quality tools, and know your car pretty well, you should have no issues.

    Unlike the front struts, the rear shocks do not function as coil spring mounts. GM press releases from 1997 stated that all 98+ F-bodies would have rear coil overs, but it never made it to production.

    So basically you just need to pull back the carpet in the trunk area above the shock towers, unbolt the shocks, and then do the same thing down on the axle. Once the top and bottom are unbolted, you can just remove the shock and install the new one. Pretty straight forward.

    If you do not feel comfortable doing it yourself, a shop would probably charge somewhere around $150 to change the shocks.

    close to it seems..when installed my konis i think it took longer to tighten the top bolt than to remove the oem rears
